When the Work Is Remembered in Arlington, VA

Yesterday, I had the honor of returning to partner with The Campagna Center in Arlington, Virginia.

The room was abuzz with the energy of a new program year—colleagues reconnecting, hugs being exchanged, and laughter and conversation filling the room.

During our time together, I shared my From Acorn to Mighty, Mighty Oak Tree™ keynote and engaged team members in the Top-Notch Villages™ workshop.

Together, they mapped the ecosystems surrounding children and families, identified the people already contributing to their growth, and explored how stronger collaboration can help every member of the village work more effectively together.

As I gathered my supplies and prepared to leave, the Early Head Start Admin Teacher who had served as my point of contact throughout the planning process came over to thank me.

Then she shared something I had not known.

She had experienced one of my workshops at the Campagna Center many years ago.

When she was given the opportunity to identify someone to work with her team, she remembered me.

She searched for me online, found my website, and brought me back.

I hugged her because people like her are how this movement continues to spread.

Every time someone remembers the message, shares my name, or creates an opportunity for another group to experience the work, they help move the mission forward.

They help more service providers recognize the power of the village surrounding every child and family.

The person holding the microphone may be the most visible, but the movement grows because someone behind the scenes remembers, believes, and opens the next door.

Yesterday, she opened that door for me—and for her team.

For that, I am deeply grateful. ❤️🌰🌱🌳☀️
