Meet Dr. El Brown, the driving force behind KinderJam, an educator, author, and a dedicated advocate for families. Her journey unfolds as a captivating narrative, weaving together a passion for education, personal challenges, and a commitment to transforming the lives of children and their families.

​

Early Beginnings:

Dr. El’s career commenced as an Early Childhood educator in the heart of Atlanta Public Schools (APS). Her path took an international turn as she ventured to Asia, teaching 2nd grade in Japan and South Korea with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).

​

A Turning Point:

Returning to the United States, Dr. El took on a new role, that of a Stay-at-Home mom. Fueled by the desire to engage more effectively with her toddler son, she crafted a curriculum that marked the genesis of KinderJam—an innovative Early Childhood Education and Family Solutions Agency.

​

Global Impact:

KinderJam, under Dr. El’s guidance, has served Military and State Department Families in 11 countries and 16 states. The program, born from her personal experience as a mother raising a child with disabilities, aimed to promote Early Intervention and Family Engagement in military communities.

​

Awards and Recognition:

Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of women, families, and children earned her invitations to the White House, appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Dr. Oz Show, and the esteemed title of the 2012 Army Spouse of the Year.

​

Educational Excellence:

To fortify KinderJam’s professional integrity, Dr. El pursued a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Later, she earned her Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education with a secondary emphasis on Educational Psychology.

​

Advocacy and Community Building:

Dr. El’s current research is at the forefront of reconceptualizing support for families of young children with disabilities. In line with this commitment, she founded Mama Bear Village—an online support community for mothers of children on the autism spectrum.

​

Educational Leadership:

Presently, KinderJam operates a preschool, summer camp programs for Fairfax County, as well as enrichment classes for military families in California, providing a nurturing environment for young minds to flourish. And, Dr. El is a sought-after speaker, offering keynotes, trainings, and thought leadership for service providers working with children and families.

​

Creative Contributions:

An accomplished author of four books and a creator of music and curriculum for young children, Dr. El’s creative touch infuses joy into early education.

​

A Proud Mother’s Heart:

Above all her achievements, Dr. El takes immense pride in being the mother of SuperDuperYoungMan (SDYM), her 17-year-old son on the autism spectrum.

​
