Be the Light—Right Down to Her Fingertips in Muskogee, OK

Yesterday, I spent four hours with Muskogee County Head Start/Early Head Start, and from the moment I entered the room, they felt like home and a warm hug.

Listening to them speak about their mission, their hopes for the children and families they serve, and the responsibility they feel to help children and families WIN poured directly into my soul.

Then, I watched them make the work their own.

They designed Top-Notch Village™ ecosystems, identified the people surrounding children and families, and explained how those village members work together to support healthy development and maximize potential.

The energy in the room was electric.

And “electric” was fitting because their theme for the year is Be the Light.

Their director was so enthusiastic about the year ahead that she had tiny light bulbs painted on her yellow fingernails. That detail told me everything.

This team is EXCITED!!!

Excited to welcome children.

Excited to partner with families.

Excited to be intentional about the role they play in the lives of the little ones who will walk through their doors.

From head to toe to fingertips, Muskogee County Head Start is ready to Be the Light.

And I am so grateful I got to spend a few hours in their Top Notch Village.❤️🌰🌱🌳
