KinderJam® is a fun, new, exciting, and high-energy Early Childhood Education learning program that emphasizes the kinesthetic and tactile learning of pre-academic and academic skills concepts. Kinesthetic learning is "learning by doing" and tactile learning is "learning by touching". Our classes are designed to engage children ranging from birth to 8 years old. KinderJam Parent Engagement Workshops assist parents of young children in becoming their child's first educator and greatest advocate. Our programs help young children and parents prepare for success in school. It's fun, but offers more than just recreation!
El Brown, the creator of KinderJam® and Military Spouse Magazine’s 2012 Army Spouse of the Year, is a wife, mother, teacher, and Certified Parent Educator. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Science in Early Childhood Education. Prior to leaving the traditional classroom setting, El served as an Elementary and Early Childhood Educator in both the United States and Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) on military installations in Yokosuka, Japan and Seoul, South Korea, for nearly a decade. While serving Military children in Korea, she met and married a Soldier and some years later, her life was further enriched by the birth of her son.
After becoming a Military spouse and mom, El not only made it her personal and professional goal to advocate for Early Childhood Education in the military community, but to enhance the personal, professional, and financial empowerment of military spouses through mobile career opportunities. As a military spouse, El understands the unique needs of the families who proudly serve our country. Owning this knowledge, she sought to develop a program that would empower military spouses that would establish and maintain mobile careers while enriching the lives of the young learners in both the military and civilian community.
KinderJam's development was inspired by El's search for quality and affordable activities that could hold her own toddler’s attention and expose him to useful tools for future academic and social success. KinderJam® focuses on introducing and reinforcing preschool skills using upbeat contemporary music, creative movement utilizing fun, colorful, and exciting manipulatives. This passionate project ignited a need for Parent Education classes in her community and El met the challenge.
Our founder believes that all parents deserve to be exposed to the skills and strategies that will assist them in helping their little one's maximize their personal potential. Since December 2008, KinderJam has grown from an activity taught in her home for her young son during her husband’s deployment to Iraq, to an international Early Childhood Enrichment and Parent Education movement! KinderJam has enriched the lives of thousands of young children and their parents in over nine countries.
